Trend Micro CEO Presents Keynote Address at 83rd Annual INTERPOL General Assembly
Session encourages ongoing collaboration to fight cybercrime

Eva Chen, CEO of Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global leader in security software and solutions, delivered a keynote address at the 83rd INTERPOL General Assembly taking place in Monaco Nov. 3-7. Her presentation highlighted the global threat landscape and emphasized the need for ongoing cooperation between public and private organizations to fight cybercrime. Trend Micro was the only security software provider invited to participate during the event's technology and cybercrime session.

"The proliferation of cybercrime dictates the need for a global effort to investigate and ultimately prosecute those responsible for these acts," said Chen. "It is an honor to have the opportunity to address a prestigious international audience of leaders to detail the challenges we face, and encourage sustained partnerships among the private sector and law enforcement around the world. It is essential to share both information and resources to keep criminal elements at bay so technology can be used in a constructive and beneficial way for the betterment of the global community."

This event marks 100 years since the first International Criminal Police Congress was held in Monaco in 1914. Topics of this year's event focused on a century of international police cooperation, as well as INTERPOL's "Turn Back Crime" campaign. Comprised of delegates from 190 member countries, the assembly serves as INTERPOL's supreme governing body, and convenes to discuss policy and resources to support the organization's mission, as well as elect the executive committee.

In Sept., Trend Micro announced a three-year agreement to support INTERPOL and its member countries with additional knowledge, resources and strategies to fight global cybercrime. The company provides threat information analysis through its Threat Intelligence Service to investigate, deter and prevent cybercrimes. An investigation training program also helps to improve techniques and increase capabilities of member countries. A Trend Micro security researcher is onsite at the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI) in Singapore to support these initiatives.
