Trend Micro revealed it has become a member of the Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange, the country’s not-for-profit threat-sharing hub for infosec pros, to contribute knowledge, threat insights and to help support cyber resilience across the country. It is worth noting that the CCTX has 170 memebers, including other security-related technology companies such as BlackBerry, Field Effect, the Canadian Internet Registry Authority (CIRA), Okiok Data, Optiv, Purilock, White Tuque and Accenture.

Global cybersecurity provider Trend Micro has announced the launch of its latest global Cyber Risk Index (CRI) for the second half of 2022. According to the results, the overall global cyber-risk levels have improved from “elevated” to “moderate” for the first time. While North America and Canada still stand at an elevated risk level, Canada received a score of -0.03, which shows an improvement compared to the first half of the year (-0.30). Although Canada has steadily shown improvement year after year, there is still work to be done. According to Jon Clay, VP of threat intelligence at Trend Micro, "Canadian organizations must continue to take steps to improve their cyber-preparedness so they can stay ahead of the ever-evolving threats, especially since most anticipate a breach within the next year."
With the launch of Bing's new AI and the release of ChatGPT 4, the technology paradigm shift is gaining even more speed. In an interview with e-Channel News' Secure Connections Podcast, VP of cybersecurity at Trend Micro, Greg Young, discussed the importance of securing environments in today's landscape. Greg also highlighted the work Trend Micro is doing in terms of vulnerability spotting and management and provided recommendations to help companies reduce their attack surface and increase their visibility to stay ahead of emerging cyber threats.
